SIRPA has developed a Chronic Pain Service (CPS) for groups of people. This is a bespoke 6 week programme which is suitable for clinical and corporate settings and can be adapted to fit specific requirements.
Chronic Pain Service format
The basic CPS programme involves 4 hour weekly group sessions, running over 6 weeks. The groups will be small enough to allow for the sessions to be interactive and flexible enough to ensure individuals receive any specific support and guidance they might require. The programme will follow a similar format to the online SIRPA Recovery Programme, but obviously because it will be in a group setting, face to face peer support will be available, which can provide valuable support for participants.
All participants receive a manual which includes all their self-assessment forms, treatment strategies and in-depth information discussed on the course. Participants will be required to complete brief health outcome forms before and after the programme which provides a valuable way to demonstrate progress for each individual. This will also enable SIRPA to be able to continue to gather an evidence base for this approach in order to help us reach more people whom we know we can help.
