Who is the SIRPA training programme for?
Any health professional (mental health or physical) or coach who is interested in learning how to help their clients who have chronic health conditions recover.
Why is the ’10 Critical Client Questions to boost Chronic Pain Recovery’ event free?
We practise authenticity because that is one of our highest values.
If you enjoy the free event and feel you’d like to integrate this approach into your work, then we can discuss options once you have completed this workshop. SIRPA does not use hard selling tactics because manipulation eventually leads to failures and stress at some point down the line. We just want you to come and enjoy the day, acquire additional helpful skills and make new friends.
Is the Introductory course mandatory for health professionals interested in going on to do the Practitioner training?
Yes. This concept and approach is about self-empowerment and beliefs and learning life skills to improve stress resilience. Every individual has their own past and present experiences to process and learn from and going through the process themselves often allows people to gain insights which will help them as they begin to use the work in their own practice. We therefore believe this is the ideal opportunity for you as a coach or health professional to learn experientially and benefit yourself, while also gaining a very good understanding of the concept and approach from the eyes of a client. It also provides an opportunity to dip a foot in to see whether this approach is something you feel you might like to integrate into your own work, before signing up for the full practitioner training.
I’m not a health care professional. Can I still come on the programme?
If you work in the health or fitness industry and work with people who have chronic health problems or work in the field of stress-management, then the knowledge of this concept and how to approach clients with something that could change their lives, could be hugely beneficial.
If you feel your work could be enhanced by being on this course and you have a recognised professional qualification and are insured and regulated by your professional body, then please get in touch in order for SIRPA to be able to decide whether you are suitable.
Is the SIRPA Training Certified?
Individuals will receive a certificate of attendance for CPD hours after each section of the training. Once certified as an Approved SIRPA Practitioner, individuals will receive a certificate of achievement.
What if I live outside the U.K.?
The course provides continual professional development, so as long as you can attend the course, there is no reason that you should not attend, wherever you live.
Is there any pre-work or anything I need to do prior to starting the program?
Prior to coming on the course you will need a basic level of understanding of the concept of stress-induced conditions. There is a book list on the Course details page with a list of recommended reading, of which at least 2 must have been read/listened to prior to the course.
How much homework will there be?
There is no homework for the Introductory course. Before being accepted onto the Practitioner training course there is a multiple choice questionnaire based on the book by Georgie Oldfield MCSP, ‘Chronic Pain: your key to recovery’. During this Practitioner course there will 5 case studies to complete and a 350 book synopsis. During the Senior Practitioner course there will be a further 25 case studies to complete as well as a piece of work to contribute to the field of TMS/PPD.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes as long as the full payment is received by the date the course begins. Please call the SIRPA office on +44 (0) 1484 452500 to discuss this if this is something you would like to make use of.
Is tuition refundable?
A 100% money-back guarantee within a month of the start of the course is available if you feel the course has not delivered on its promise to you. Having said that, these FAQ and the additional FAQ e-book is available in order for you to be sure this course is right for you before you book. If you have any doubt at all, in order not to waste your time and ours, please contact the course organiser, Georgie Oldfield MCSP on email@example.com prior to booking to discuss any reservations you might have.
What are the benefits of the programme?
The learning outcomes are on the SIRPA Practitioner Training Course page, but most importantly this course will help you make an even more positive impact on your client’s health and wellbeing and therefore their lives as a whole. It will provide you with the understanding and tools to allow you to help your patients/clients recover from chronic pain, not just manage it.
